2-Cooking
Gourds are preparing in many ways. But for healthy cooking, cooking in water is not recommended unless you want to make a soup and therefore use cooking water. Indeed, if you do not want to keep the cooking water, you will throw away the nutrients contained in the cooking water.
For healthy cooking, cook your squash in steam, microwave or oven.
The pieces can be sprinkled with spices before cooking according to what you want to cook after (in this case, remove the seeds before cooking). Bake for 30 to 60 minutes in the oven at 180 ° C or 350 ° F depending on size. To know if it is cooked, it is enough to prick the flesh as one does for the potatoes.

Cooking in the microwave oven
The squash can be cut into large pieces or put whole by its size.
If you cook it whole, squeeze it from one end to the other with the point of a knife and then once placed in a microwave dish cover it with a cellophane film leaving a corner not closed. Bake for about 15 minutes. Check cooking by pricking flesh.
If you cut it into large pieces, proceed as above with 10 to 15 minutes of cooking time or put your pieces in a special microwave oven
oven Baking
You can cook it whole. Personally I prefer to cut it in 2 or 4 depending on the size and remove the seeds before cooking. Then, just recover the flesh cooked by the spoon.
